Whether you’re a skinny guy trying to get some muscles into those flimsy limbs or someone who’s trying to carve out the excess fat and unleash the Greek god sculpture within you, you need to start somewhere; the first step, the opening line. And there’s no better place to start than doing it from within. Start from your mental core, strengthen it and use it to your advantage.
It’s not gonna be easy. That’s the first thing that you need to remember when you start going into the journey of having a physically fit and pleasing body. The process is long, hard, and requires a lot of self-discipline and focus. It’s not gonna be easy, but it will sure be worth it. You have to always remember that the fitness journey is a road of ups and downs, and it’s not always high times, you’ll have dips, physically and mentally. During this downtimes, you need to remind yourself why you started in the first place, and visualize the image of your future self, the person you want to be, the body of the Greek god within.
The first few weeks or months of your fitness journey is usually a trial phase. You try out different exercise programs that you found on the internet probably, or suggested to you by your friend and gym-buddies. This is where you usually find out what’s the best fitness program for you, the right muscle groups to work out at different schedules, the correct ways to hold different gym equipment, and even the right amount of food intake depending on your body type. It all varies actually per individual because we have different body types and different ways our bodies react to various exercises.
That’s why this period is important because it’s when you recognize the best exercise program for you, and how you adapt to it. Also, it is important to note that during these times, you’ll have a lot of confusion and frustration because things might not be working as you have planned. You’re not meeting you’re goal weight and it seems like you’re not improving. This could really feel frustrating, but remind yourself that you are at the trial stage of this journey. You’re just trying out things, and it will not always be successful. And that’s okay.
